About the role

The role will involve working closely with grid interconnection engineers, thermodynamics and turbo-machinery experts, hardware design engineers, and build engineering resources.
Candidates must be willing to be flexible in their work and help do what it takes to build the startup.

We are hiring for candidates with very strong fundamentals and experience applying them in the real world including hands-on experience with hardware they have developed.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and size electrical systems for conversion of high power to grid compatible electricity, including generators, inverters, and switchgear.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate motors and generators for the system, considering efficiency, cost, and reliability.

  • Apply career experience and work place knowledge of the EE first principles which motivated you to become an EE. You know the fundamentals for all the proper reasons

  • Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

  • Perform simulations and analysis to validate system performance.

  • Apply best practices and Industry adopted simulation SW

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during design, testing, and implementation phases.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in power generation, electrical system design, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical system integration.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and best practices in electrical engineering.

  • Experience balancing power budgets and defining system requirements

  • Experience specifying and sizing circuit protection systems (switch-gear circuits)

  • Experience in first principles system sizing and modeling

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication and team-working skills

  • Highly self-motivated

Basic Experience:

  • 2d electrical line drawings (eg AutoCAD electrical, eplan, or similar etc.)

  • Experience with generator sizing at speeds > 10,000 rpm

  • Experience with power generation equipment

  • Experience with 0 -1 design of electrical and controls hardware

  • Past experience bringing up production processes to manufacture at rate

Compensation Range: $175K - $200K
