Role:
Northwood Space is seeking an enthusiastic RF Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 to join our team in El Segundo. As an intern, you’ll assist in designing the next generation of ground stations and support the RF team’s efforts in optimizing performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside electrical, RF, mechanical, manufacturing, and software engineers, contributing to the development process from concept to production.
Responsibilities:
Support the design and development of new RF hardware, as well as improvements to existing designs for enhanced performance and reliability
Assist in the fabrication and characterization of prototypes for antennas, feeds, and active RF circuits
Work closely with hardware and software engineers to test and troubleshoot integrated RF performance
Provide technical support to colleagues in regulatory and site operations
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Basic knowledge of transmission line theory and use of the smith chart
Familiarity with RF test equipment, such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers, including how they work
Experience with PCB design in a tool such as Altium
Experience in Python or another language for data analysis
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay are determined on a base-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, and technical capabilities. In addition to the base salary, Northwood Space offers long-term incentives such as company stock, stock options, and cash awards, as well as a discretionary bonus for performance.
