About Seremoni

At Seremoni, we’re building a better seafood system — one rooted in exceptional quality, respect for the product, and uncompromising standards from harvest to final delivery. We believe great seafood deserves great stewardship, and that food safety, consistency, and craftsmanship are foundational to everything we do.

We’re looking for a Quality Control Lead to help uphold and elevate those standards every day on the production floor. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in disciplined execution, has strong technical knowledge of food safety and quality systems, and cares deeply about building a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Quality Assurance to support and strengthen our quality and food safety programs, ensure compliance with HACCP and regulatory standards, and help train teams to operate with excellence.

What You’ll Do

Champion Food Safety & Product Quality on the Floor

  • Perform in-line food safety and quality checks throughout production, including:
    • Product temperature verification
    • Chemical concentration testing
    • Metal detector checks
    • Product sampling and inspection
  • Conduct sensory evaluations to assess product quality, freshness, and conformance to standards.
  • Collect and prepare samples for microbial testing and other quality verification activities.
  • Monitor product and process integrity in real time, escalating issues quickly and driving corrective actions when standards are not met.

Support Environmental Monitoring & Sanitation Verification

  • Execute environmental monitoring activities, including:
    • ATP swabbing
    • Water and ice sample collection
    • Food-contact and facility swabbing
  • Verify sanitation readiness of equipment and facility areas prior to startup and throughout operations as needed.
  • Help ensure sanitation and operational practices consistently support safe, high-quality production.

Maintain Strong GMP, HACCP & Compliance Discipline

  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety expectations across the facility.
  • Review HACCP records and verify all Critical Control Points (CCPs) are properly monitored and met.
  • Complete and document corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Support traceability, documentation review, and compliance with internal programs as well as federal, state, customer, and GFSI-aligned standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and routine checks to help maintain a high level of operational discipline.

Own Documentation & Program Support

  • Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready quality and food safety records.
  • Support the development, revision, and upkeep of QA/QC documents, SOPs, logs, and policies.
  • Partner directly with the Head of Quality Assurance on program execution, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help ensure digital records are complete, accurate, and maintained in a timely manner.

Train & Elevate the Team

  • Support training for production and QC team members on key quality and food safety topics, including:
    • HACCP
    • GMPs
    • Sensory evaluation
    • Documentation best practices
  • Reinforce a culture where quality ownership extends across the floor, not just within QA.
  • Help set the tone for consistency, accountability, and pride in the product.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of quality assurance or quality control experience in a food processing environment.
  • Seafood experience strongly preferred; experience in other highly perishable protein or food manufacturing environments may also be considered.
  • Experience with:
    • In-process quality checks
    • HACCP record review
    • Internal audits
    • Traceability
    • Corrective actions
    • Training frontline teams
  • Experience supporting or maintaining quality and food safety documentation in a regulated environment.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • HACCP certification required (current or obtained within the last 5 years preferred).
  • GFSI certification or experience with GFSI-aligned systems (e.g. SQF, BRC) is a strong plus.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical / Quality Systems

  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, and core food safety principles.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. food safety and regulatory expectations; familiarity with international or customer-driven standards is a plus.
  • General understanding of microbiology, environmental monitoring, and aseptic sampling techniques.
  • Ability to review records carefully, identify deviations, and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Comfortable using computers and digital systems to maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.

Ways of Working

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline.
  • Proactive, dependable, and calm under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally with production and QA teams.
  • Able to uphold standards consistently while building trust and collaboration on the floor.
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Spanish/English bilingual is a strong plus.

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Quality and food safety checks are executed consistently, accurately, and without shortcuts.
  • Records are complete, organized, and always audit-ready.
  • Deviations are caught early, escalated appropriately, and resolved with strong follow-through.
  • GMP and HACCP discipline are visibly strong across the production floor.
  • Production teams understand the “why” behind the standards and take greater ownership of quality.
  • Seremoni’s quality bar is protected and strengthened every day.

Physical & Working Conditions

  • This is a hands-on role based in a seafood processing / production environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in cold, wet, refrigerated, and fast-paced production settings.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Schedule flexibility may be required based on production needs.

Why Seremoni

This is an opportunity to help shape the quality culture at a company that believes premium seafood starts with disciplined execution and genuine care for the product. If you’re the kind of person who notices what others miss, takes standards seriously, and wants to help build something exceptional, we’d love to meet you.
