Position Overview
Shinkei Systems is pioneering technology to deliver the highest-quality seafood at scale.
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to sit at the intersection of fish biology research, engineering, and real-world operations. You will be pivotal in developing a system to quantify the quality of fish. You will own the design and integration of electromechanical systems, from initial concept through build, test, and deployment in commercial processing plants.
What you do:
Electro-mechanical design, sensor integration, data processing, hands-on testing and validation
Blank sheet mechanism design.
Work in a cross functional team of controls, mechanical design, software architecture and machine learning engineers.
What you need:
BS/MS ME or related.
Physical prototyping background.
CAD, machining, fabrication etc.
Robotics, sensors, embedded systems.
Success requires:
Ability to iterate fast through design, build and test cycles.
Excited to work hands-on with fish.
Excited to be a part of improving our food systems.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our El Segundo office, with approximately 10-20% travel.
